AUBURN — Kaden Paaso was seeing triple, with a game-high three runs and three hits in three at-bats, while leading Mountain Valley to a 7-4 victory over rival Dirigo in an MVC baseball matchup Monday at Central Maine Community College.
Josh Pollis added two hits, a run and an RBI for Mountain Valley (7-8). Seneca Jones pitched 6 2/3 innings for the Falcons, striking out nine and allowing four hits.
Travis Wright led Dirigo (0-15) with three RBIs, a run and two hits. Hudson Lufkin pitched five innings for the Cougars, striking out four, and Anthony Smith struck out one batter in a hitless inning of relief.
SOFTBALL
WINTHROP/MARANACOOK 14, TELSTAR 10: A three-run first inning put the Black Bears on course to a win over the Rebels in Bethel.
Cyara Harriman, Danika Dunn and Piper Clark led Winthrop/Maranacook (3-10) with two RBIs each. Anna Reay pitched five innings and struck out four Telstar (2-13) batters.
Sarah Chase had a game-high four RBIs and a game-high three runs for Telstar. Maylyn Hastings pitched 4 1/3 innings for the Rebels and Viv Charette pitched 2/3 innings of the five-inning game.
