Kittens at Responsible Pet Care

On May 18, a gentleman was bringing his garbage to the town transfer station when suddenly, he heard what sounded like a faint little scream. He started searching for this noise, and that’s when he spotted two, week-old kittens on the ground. He scooped them up and rushed them right to us. We assessed the kittens, gave them a flea bath, and immediately gave them kitten formula.

The next day, we got a call from a different gentleman, an employee at the transfer station. They found another kitten. A staff member rushed over and brought it back to RPC to be taken care of. We’ve since been in contact with the employees at the transfer station to keep an eye out for any signs of a stray mom cat, each day we still look for her.

In the meantime, a staff member at RPC is fostering these kittens, feeding them every few hours with kitten milk replacers, and keeping them warm on heating pads.

Springtime is the time of year for kittens, we do not kid around when we say that. Since the weather has gotten warmer, we have received phone calls weekly about stray kittens. We now have 11 litters of kittens, and two stray kittens. Responsible Pet Care is always looking for the community to help us save these homeless animals.

Whether that is, adopting, fostering, or donating items. We always need dry and wet food, for kittens and adults; toys to keep them busy, heating pads, and blankets to keep them warm. Milk replacers for formula or the ones without their mom. Towels to keep them dry and bleach to kill the germs.
