CARRABASSETT VALLEY — The Carrabassett Valley Public Library Summer Reading Program begins now.
The first 20 participants can pick up an Adventure Begins at Your Library backpack with enclosed reading log, stickers, bookmarks and your very own Backyard Scavenger Hunt card. Choose a pile of library books to borrow and bring them home in your new backpack.
Participants will also get to choose two free books to keep from a limited collection of Scholastic books. The library purchased 40 books at a discount made possible by our Scholastic Literacy Partners.
Passive programming allows children and families the opportunity to stop by the air-conditioned library any time during open hours to do the activity of the week, or bring the idea/activity home for another time. Activities will also be posted on the Carrabassett Valley Public Library Facebook page. Summer Hours: Tue-Fri: 10-5 & Sat: 10-3.
Starting July 9 they are as follows:
WEEK 1 ~ July 10-13: DIY Scavenger Hunt
WEEK 2 ~ July 17-20: Micro Adventure
WEEK 3 ~ July 24-27: Stick Tac Toe
Week 4 ~ July 31 – August 3: Camping Bingo
