If you love the Rangeley area and all the spectacular outdoor opportunities it has to offer, consider sharing that love by becoming a Rangeley Lakes Scenic Byway Ambassador for the Rangeley Lakes Heritage Trust this summer. The Byway passes through a region with over 200,000 acres of conserved public access lands offering scenic beauty and multi-season recreational opportunities, much of it stewarded by Rangeley Lakes Heritage Trust. Learn more about the byway and find scenic stops: rlht.org/rangeley-lakes-national-scenic-byway
Ambassadors are stationed at a few locations in the region on Thursdays through Sundays for short two to three hour shifts to greet visitors and chat with them about the Rangeley Lakes Heritage Trusts ongoing work in the region, including conservation, land stewardship and restoration projects to help preserve the unique beauty of this place. Ambassadors may also offer suggestions for trails and activities, so visitors can get the most out of their experience. Ambassadors do not need to commit to a certain number of hours and are paid for travel and hours worked. To learn more, contact: [email protected] or the RLHT office at 207-864-7311.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
You can read more here about our commenting policy and terms of use. More information is also found on our FAQs.
