Larry Chaloux

LEWISTON – Larry Chaloux, 76, passed away peacefully on July 9, 2024, after a battle with dementia at d’Youville nursing home in Lewiston. He was born in Lewiston, on Dec. 20, 1947, the son of Aime and Lucille Chaloux, and has been a member of this community all of his life.

Larry dedicated his life to the local shoe industry, working as a leather cutter for 45-plus years and retired from Rancourt & Co. He was a member of the East Auburn Baptist Church, where he attended services with his wife until he was no longer able to.

Larry spent much of his free time working in his yard or preparing skids for his wood stove. He also loved visiting with his family and attending local festivities. His love for hockey was profound, and he was an avid fan of the Bruins and the Patriots.

He is survived by his wife Pauline of 35 years; his son Chad, wife Heather, and daughters, Avery, Lauren, and Emerson; three stepchildren, Stacey, Angela, and Jack. Stacey’s husband Eric Yarnell, son Eric Zachary, and daughter Jenna McNutt. Angela’s husband Jon, daughter Julia, and son Evan. Jack’s wife Natalie Nelson and son Tavis.

Larry is also survived by his sister Therese Rancourt, her son Brian, and daughter Kayla Guerette; sister-in-law Gloria Chaloux, her son Jason; sisters-in-law Ann Dutil, Jean Leighton, Dorothy Sirois, and brother-in-law Albert Sirois. He was predeceased by his parents, Aime and Lucille Chaloux, brother Normand and son Raymond. He will be greatly missed.

Family and friends are invited to attend services which include a wake at 10 a.m., followed by the funeral at 11 a.m., July 24, at the East Auburn Baptist Church, located at 560 Park Ave, Auburn.
