POLAND — Regional School Unit 16 will need a third vote to validate the 2024-25 budget.

Unofficial results show Tuesday’s validation vote failed by 21 votes, 466 to 445.

The budget passed in Mechanic Falls, 108-93, and Minot, 125-73. However, Poland voters rejected it, 300-212.

The amended $28.8 million budget shaved more than $556,000 off the initial $29.3 million, which was voted down 913-736 on June 11.
