TURNER — An 18-year-old Auburn man led sheriff’s deputies and Auburn police on a chase Monday night from Turner into Auburn, officials said.

Brayden Laliberte, 18, of Auburn was arrested after a chase from Turner beginning around 10:06 p.m. Monday night near the Northland Plaza at 1355 Auburn Road ended on Center Street in Auburn. Police deployed a tire deflation device, a spike mat, to stop his vehicle, said Androscoggin County Sheriff’s Office Deputy Chief William Gagne.

Laliberte was charged with eluding an officer, driving to endanger, operating after suspension, criminal speed and violating conditions of release. He was transported to Androscoggin County Jail and bail was set at $500 cash.

Police did not share the type of vehicle or the speed at which Laliberte was traveling. Early reports, however, indicated a pink and purple SUV was reaching speeds of around 110 miles per hour and was stopped on Center Street with a spike mat.
