BETHEL— A previous article in the Bethel Citizen asked the question, ‘What to do with Bethel’s bicentennial bricks?’ Following up on this, a few additions have been made.
Firstly, the bricks are actually called Millennial bricks, as they were commemorating the year 2000. The bricks are currently being stored in Highway Garage, and were not available to be photographed for this article. Since the article has been posted, a concerned citizen has called, requesting that the bricks be returned to the families who originally commissioned them.
So far no concrete plans have been made with regard to the bricks themselves, and according to Sharon Jackson, they have only received one call so far with regard to community desires when it comes to the bricks.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
