John Joseph Ponte
HEBRON – John Joseph Ponte, 74, of Hebron died Nov. 10, 2024, at MaineHealth Stephens Hospital, Norway, after a long illness while surrounded by family and friends.
He was born at Cambridge, Mass. on Sept. 13, 1950, a son of John Ponte Sr. and A. Patricia (Camacho) Ponte. John graduated from Taunton, Mass. Vocational High School and was an extraordinary mechanic all his life. John’s passions were fast motorcycles, cars, snowmobiles and boats. The faster the better!
He belonged to several area motorcycle and snowmobile clubs through the years where he gained many longtime friendships.
He leaves his daughter Hannah Lu of Hebron and son John Glenwood of Rockport; grandchildren, Justin Jade Fernands, Emeral, Evelyn and Celes Ponte; a brother Gregory Ponte and his wife Donna Ponte of West Gardiner; and longtime love Terri Morrison of South Paris.
We would like to thank the staff of Family Care Plus, Market Square Health Care Center, Beacon Hospice and MaineHealth Stephens Hospital as we are truly appreciative of the wonderful care he received.
A Celebration of Life for John will be held during the summer of 2025.
