LISBON FALLS — University of Maine Cooperative Extension is set to hold a Food for Thought 4-H STEM Challenge workshop for volunteers from 3-5 p.m. Thursdays, Jan. 16 and 30, at the Androscoggin/Sagadahoc office, 24 Main St.
This workshop is geared toward adults who want to learn more about how to help youth address food security issues at the community level. The first one will introduce the 4-H STEM Challenge, which features activities designed for youth in grades three and above, according to a news release from Sarah Sparks with the extension office.
In the second session, participants will receive a free kit, positive youth development training, and support to set up their own program. Through this 4-H opportunity, volunteers can inspire the next generation of problem-solvers while tackling real-world challenges.
Registration is free, but required. It is open to adults in Androscoggin or Sagadahoc counties.
