To the Editor:
Always grateful for fellow community members who are willing to serve on public boards, we especially wanted to acknowledge the dedicated service of Cheri Thurston on the Bethel Town Planning Board. Cheri is concluding 12 years of service on the Planning Board, including her latest stint as the Board Chair.
The role of the Planning Board is to apply the standards the Town has enacted for new developments in our community. Cheri set an exemplary standard in the conduct of the Planning Board. Even in difficult discussions, Cheri always made it a point to help educate the public about the standards, invite public comment, and act in the Town’s best interest.
We have been so proud to serve with Cheri and we hope all residents in the Town appreciate her contributions to keeping Bethel such a special place to live. She has been a delight to work with, and we wish her the very best.
