AREA — On Tuesday, December 17, eight Certified Nursing Assistants were recognized in front of over 50 family members and friends at their Oxford Hills / Nezinscot Adult Education CNA pinning ceremony.
Several students spoke during the ceremony. Margaret Miller, an Oxford native with a background in healthcare, said, “Completing this class while being a mom to a very busy, intelligent five-year-old girl and a time-consuming four-month-old baby, has been one of the biggest challenges that I have overcome. . . .It might take time, but I know that I can truly accomplish anything I want. I take great pride in what I do, and to my classmates, I hope you do too. I hope that you recognize the importance of the role that you have chosen to take.”
This program was supported by the Maine Jobs and Recovery Plan (MJRP) through Central Maine Community College’s Workforce and Professional Development Office, Eastern Maine Development Corporation, and others. Clinical rotations were done at Market Square Health Care Center.
Applications are being taken now for the March-May CNA training offered by Oxford Hills / Nezinscot Adult Education. Please call 207-743-8842 to apply. Oxford Hills / Nezinscot Adult Education is located at 1570 Main Street, Suite 6, in Oxford Plaza, Oxford.
