SACO – Sandra A. Doughty, 85, formerly of Jay, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 8, 2025, at Seal Rock at Atlantic Heights in Saco, surrounded by her loving family.
She was born on Dec. 20, 1939, in Livermore Falls, the daughter of Joseph E. A. Cote and Elda A. (Pineau) Cote. She was a 1957 graduate of Livermore Falls High School.
On June 25, 1960, at St. Rose of Lima Church in Jay, she married her high school sweetheart and love of her life, Brian Doughty of Livermore Falls. They raised their family and enjoyed 57 years together before his passing on Oct. 26, 2017.
Sandra devoted her time to her family and later worked as a teller at Franklin Savings Bank in Jay. She was a communicant of St. Rose of Lima Church and a Maine Rovers Camping Club member. She enjoyed playing cribbage with family members, boating on Moosehead Lake, and gathering for a weekly card night with close friends and family members. Most of all, Sandy enjoyed the time spent with her extended Cote-Doughty family. She will be remembered for her love, kindness, and great humor.
She is survived by two daughters, Karen Doughty of Hallowell and Kelly Doughty Labbe of Gray, three sons, Douglas Doughty and his wife Brenda of Columbia, S.C., Randall Doughty and his wife Sharon of Gray, and Scott Doughty and his wife Jana of York; 10 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren; her sisters Patricia Punch of Livermore, Carol Perreault of Jay, Suzanne Bowen of Oxford and Vicki Cyr and husband Paul of McCormick, S.C., and her brothers Thomas Cote and wife Mary of Livermore Falls, and Geoffrey Cote and wife Bernice of Wilton.
She was predeceased by her parents; her husband, Brian; her grandson, Ryan Doughty; and her brothers Richard and William Cote.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m., Wednesday, Jan. 15 at St. Rose of Lima Church, 1 Church St., Jay. Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m., Tuesday, Jan. 14 at Finley Funeral Home, 15 Church St., Livermore Falls. Interment at a later date at Holy Cross Cemetery, 445 Park St., Livermore Falls.
