We are pleased to introduce Buck and Barb. Our two crazy yet wonderful Walker Hounds.

Buck is a two-year-old Treeing Walker Coonhound, weighing a little over 50 lbs. He came to us as a stray and has been working very hard with our dedicated K9 staff on leash manners, basic commands, and house training. He will need additional work on the leash training but has improved greatly since coming into our care. Buck is an active, playful dog and would do very well in an active home. He did not respond well when he was cat tested so he would need to go to a cat-free home. He has had mixed reactions about other dogs at our facility, but there is the potential that he could go to a home with other dogs. We are unsure of how he would be with small children, but he would likely do well in a home with older (12+) children. Buck loves his chew toys and he is a super chewer! He also loves playtime in our yards, but doesn’t want to be out too long, and he will let you know with his classic hound bark.

Barb is a two-year-old Treeing Walker Coonhound weighing around 50 lbs. She came to us as a stray and has been working very hard with our kennel team on leash manners, basic commands, and house training. She is also doing very well with all of these things and is smart and eager to learn. Barb did not do well when we cat-tested her so she would need to go to a cat-free home. She has shown interest in some of the other dogs we have here so there is a potential that she could go to a home with other dogs. We are unsure how Barb is around young children, but a home with older kids (12+) would be fine. Barb is a playful pup, full of energy, and would do well in an active home. She loves toys and enrichment games here at the shelter. Buck and Barb both have a lot of personality and are looking for their forever homes.
