LIVERMORE — Androscoggin County sheriff’s deputies are investigating a collision of a small pickup truck and a tractor-trailer truck late Thursday night on state Route 4, near the Turner line.
Two people were taken by MaineHealth EMS ambulance services to an area hospital with injuries not considered life-threatening, Chief Deputy William Gagne said Friday.
The names of the drivers and a passenger were not released because of the pending investigation to determine what happened. Gagne said he believed the driver of the pickup and a passenger were taken to an area hospital.
A nearby neighbor heard a loud bang and the electricity went out, and reported it to 911 at about 11:48 p.m., he said.
A pickup truck and the tractor-trailer truck collided and a utility pole was struck, Gagne said. The fuel tank on the tractor-trailer truck ruptured and fuel leaked out, he said.
Cpl. Devon Bohacik and Deputies Joseph Tripp and Lance Neal responded to the scene. Both vehicles were impounded, he said, pending further investigation.
Livermore and Turner fire departments responded to assist at the scene.
