AUBURN — Police were investigating reports of a group of juveniles heard arguing just moments before shots were reported fired on Grove Street.
At about 8:50 p.m. Sunday, police went to Grove Street after callers reported hearing several shots fired.
Police shut down a section of the street as investigators began looking for evidence and potential suspects, according to a press release. Police found several spent shell casings on the grounds and found that one Grove Street building had been struck by gunfire.
As police continued to investigate, potential clues emerged.
“A witness in the building reported to investigators that a verbal confrontation between several juveniles had taken place inside the apartment building,” according to the release. “The juveniles were reportedly kicked out of the apartment just moments before the first shots were fired.”
No injuries were reported, police said. The investigation was continuing later Sunday night.
