Diane Juliette Paine
AUBURN – Diane Juliette Paine, 71, of Auburn, was called home peacefully on Tuesday, Jan. 28, 2025 surrounded by loved ones.
She was born in Lewiston, on Nov. 3, 1953, daughter of Roger and Ludgarde Fortin. Diane graduated from Lewiston High School in 1972, and dedicated her compassion to 38 years of CNA/Med Tech work.
She enjoyed spending all of her time with family – her daughters, grandchildren, siblings, nieces and nephews, but above all, her mother. She was proud of all three of her girls, there was no favorite. Her grandbabies were her pride and joy and one of her favorite titles she ever had, was “Memere”.
Her best days were spent on the go, running errands, shopping and “going half” on scratch tickets with her mom. She enjoyed going to the casino and trying her luck at Bingo weekly. Sundays were saved for playing cards at her sister’s house.
Diane will be remembered for her unconditional love and unwavering faith in God. Her unmatched positivity will sorely be missed by all who knew her.
Diane was predeceased by her daughter, Carol; her grandson, Logan; her father, Roger; and her grandmother, Armandine.
She is survived by her daughters Jennifer Nadeau (Christopher), Elizabeth Pelletier, Mary Santamaria (Arsenio); her grandchildren, Jasmine, Caleb, Miya, Mason, Marcus and Elijah. She also leaves behind her two sisters, Florence Poulin (Larry), Louise Greer (Steve) and her two brothers, Donald Fortin (Brenda) and Laurier Fortin (Doreen). Lastly, but most importantly, her mother and best friend, Ludgarde Fortin.
