It’s difficult to sort through the fire hose of executive orders that have spouted from the new administration.
The one that emerged as one of the most damaging in those first two days was the release of more than 1,500 Jan. 6 criminal defendants, many of whom had assaulted police officers and even caused several deaths.
It is beyond ironic that the man who complained so often and so vehemently about the “dangerous criminals” he was going to deport just released hundreds of home-grown violent offenders right back into the fabric of our communities. Many of them are likely re-arming and reorganizing.
The blanket pardon was met by many prominent lawmakers with a shrug. How long do people suppose it will be until we see vigilante groups targeting Donald Trump’s supposed enemies?
