TIMING: The snow will begin Saturday around or just before midnight.
It will be heaviest early Sunday morning, wrapping up through the morning. Snow should be mostly done by midday on Sunday.
TOTALS: The highest totals will be in southern Maine, York County likely will be the bullseye for the state with 6-10 inches in southern York County.
Four to 8 inches of snow is expected in southern Maine including the Portland area.
There will be a steep drop-off in snowfall into Androscoggin, Franklin and Oxford counties. It looks like a minor event there with 2-4 inches. Stay tuned, there is plenty of time for totals to shift a bit.
Beyond the weekend, we get a few days’ break in storms for Monday and Tuesday. It will be very cold at night early next week with well below 0 temperatures, highs will be in the 20s.
Our next storm potential is on Tuesday night-Wednesday morning.
This looks like a very minor event at this point if we see anything at all.
A more significant storm potential is in the cards for Thursday, with yet another storm threat next weekend. Stay closely tuned to the forecast over the next week as we narrow down these storm threats.
