NORWAY — Norway Savings Bank recently presented a $5,000 check to Bridgton Historical Society for its new gallery and exhibit space. The bank also donated $3,000 to New Ventures Maine in support of small business growth.

The Historical Society is preserving and renovating the United Methodist Church building on Main Street to serve as its new headquarters. The building, dedicated in 1872, will feature a gallery and exhibit space on the main floor, a museum shop and lobby in the entrance, and areas where educational experiences can be offered.

Upgrades are being made to the electrical system, alarm system, and other facility points, but preservation is being held in equal priority as the stained-glass windows that adorn the walls are being stabilized and the building’s clock and bell are being repaired.

New Ventures Maine provides grants to boost business growth for new and existing small businesses in the state through its Marketing Mini-Grants program. The grants enable businesses to create and complete targeted marketing projects that can reach new customers, assist with brand recognition, and increase sales.

Norway Savings Bank donated $3,000 to assist New Ventures Maine in providing new paths to success for small businesses, having contributed over $30,000 to the organization in recent years.
