Addison Jordan scored 16 points and added six assists, Anna Goodman made four 3-pointers, and second-seeded Cheverus scored the first 33 points on its way to a 62-34 win over seventh-seeded Lewiston in a Class AA North girls basketball quarterfinal Friday in Portland.

Kylie Lamson finished with eight points, and Abby Kelly (eight rebounds) and Rachel Feeley followed with six points apiece for the Stags (14-5), who led 17-0 after one quarter.

Cheverus, the defending state champion, next faces No. 3 Edward Little at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Cross Insurance Arena.

Bailey Tardif-Mockler scored 16 points, Ella Beaudoin had seven and Bailey Toderico ended with six for the Blue Devils (3-16).

BANGOR 37, WINDHAM 36: Emily Adams made the second of two free throws with 2.9 seconds remaining, lifting the fourth-seeded Rams (13-6) over the fourth-seeded Eagles (11-8) in a Class AA North quarterfinal in Bangor.

Windham’s Stella Jarvais tied the game when she made the first of two free throws with 50 seconds left. The visiting Eagles got possession after the second free throw, but a turnover gave Bangor a chance for the win, and Adams was fouled after grabbing a rebound.

Adams finished with 13 points for Bangor, which advances to play No. 1 Oxford Hills next Wednesday at Portland’s Cross Insurance Arena.

Marley Jarvais scored 12 points and Stella Jarvais had 11 for Windham.

CONY 48, SKOWHEGAN 46: Thanks to strong efforts from freshman Kya Douin and senior Morgan Fichthorn — who scored her 1,00th career point — second-seeded Cony held on for a Class A North quarterfinal win over the seventh-seeded River Hawks (7-12) at the Augusta Civic Center.

Fichthorn finished with 22 points and eight rebounds, and Kya Douin scored 16 points to lead the Rams, who will face No. 3 Hampden Academy (14-5) at 2 p.m. Wednesday.

Junior forward Natalie Cooke scored 16 points for the River Hawks and Allie Frey added 13 for Skowhegan.

Fichthorn got her 1,000th point on a free throw with less than a minute left in the game.

HAMPDEN ACADEMY 43, BREWER 37: Grace LaBree led third-seeded Hampden (14-5) with 15 points and seven rebounds, and the Broncos advanced to the Class A North semifinals with a win over the sixth-seeded Witches (6-13).

LaBree scored seven points in the third quarter, helping the Broncos build a 33-14 lead.

Caitlin Murphy added nine points and six rebounds.

BOYS BASKETBALL

SOUTH PORTLAND 60, GORHAM 42: Carmine Soucy made five 3-pointers in the first half, starting the second-seeded Red Riots (14-5) on their way to a win over No. 7 Gorham (6-13) in a Class AA South quarterfinal n South Portland.

Soucy finished with 21 points to lead the Red Riots into the semifinals next Thursday against No. 3 Scarborough at Portland’s Cross Insurance Arena.

Manny Hidalgo chipped in with 17 points and eight assists, and Gabe Jackson scored 10 points. The Red Riots led 19-10 after one quarter and 36-22 at halftime.

Colton Jewett paced Gorham with 17 points.
