OXFORD — The Oxford Helping Hands Food Pantry is scheduled to close March 6, the final day of distribution.

Linda Willard Oster made the announcement on the organization’s Facebook page, citing the lack of funding.

Members of the organization did not return messages seeking comment.

The pantry was in the former municipal building at 85 Pleasant St., then moved to the Oxford Congregational Church at 252 King St. It now uses an area at Polly’s Variety Store at 115 King St., serving Oxford, Hebron and Otisfield residents. The pantry provides families with fresh and nonperishable foods.

There are other food pantries in the area to meet demand, including one at Stephens Memorial Hospital, 193 Main St., Norway.
