While watching the news recently, I was wondering what happened to all the women who stood up for women’s rights in the 1970s. Why are they not standing up today for the rights of women in sports?
I saw a New York Times and a CNN report that says 79% of America, and 67% of Democrats, do not support biological boys playing in girls’ sports. Why have Gov. Janet Mills and the Maine Democrats chosen this hill to die on?
We have always told our girls that they can be anything they want to be. They have been lied to. Now the Democrats are trying to take 100 years of fighting for women rights back into the 20th century. Why are women trying to erase women?
I was proud to see several young ladies speaking up for the girls at the rally in Augusta last Saturday. Maine high school Junior Julia Dietrich gave a very passionate speech, saying, “We are tired of being ignored. We are tired of watching our concerns be brushed aside, and we refuse to stand by where fairness in girls’ sports is compromised.”
I applaud the brave young ladies standing up for the rights of young women. Women fought for the right to vote in 1920. Where are the feminists today? Why are they not protecting our girls?
Janet Mills and the Democrats in Augusta are taking the rights of girls away in 2025. We must stand up for our female athletes.
