Maine and the country are the poorer for the loss of Thomas Moser. He was not only a superb craftsman, he was a warm, open-hearted human being.

Thirty odd years ago my wife and I visited his business and, when he learned my wife had a small wood-crafting business (Carol’s Woodcrafts) in Los Angeles, he took the time to show her around and talk to her about her custom furniture crafting and crafting in general.

Before we left, he hunted up a piece of cherry and gave it to her as a memento of her visit. She loved his work with wood, but by the time we left she had the warmest feeling for the gentleman he was.
