DEAR SUN SPOTS: Delta Kappa Gamma, local Mu Chapter, an international society of retired and current women educators, is providing our Recruitment Grant, which is a $1000 scholarship. This is awarded to a high school senior enrolled in a school of higher education and planning to become a teacher.
This year’s scholarship is available to a student from a school in the central Maine area. Priority will be given to children and grandchildren of DKG members.

DEAR SUN SPOTS: The Shop into Spring Craft and Vendor Fair will be held at the Auburn Mall on Saturday, April 12, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
A large variety of crafters and vendors will be on hand with a wide variety of items. It’s the perfect time to purchase gifts for springtime events like Mother’s Day, birthdays, weddings and graduations.
Admission is free and raffle tickets will be on sale. Proceeds from this event will benefit the Greater Androscoggin Humane Society. We will also be collecting physical donations for the shelter that day. — Lauren, no town

DEAR SUN SPOTS: The Androscoggin Retired Educators’ Association will meet at 10:30 a.m. at Montello Heights, 55 College St., Lewiston, on Wednesday, April 16.

ANSWER: Androscoggin Retired Educators’ Association meets five times per year: September, October, November, March and April. Dues are $10 per year for educators, $6 per year for non-educator spouses. Dues are payable in September.
You need not have taught in Androscoggin County or even in the state of Maine. All educators are welcome: teachers, assistant teachers, ed techs, librarians, principals, guidance counselors, secretaries and anyone who has worked with children.
DEAR SUN SPOTS: St. Catherine of Sienna Church at 32 Paris St. in Norway is hosting its annual Spring Rummage Sale on Saturday, May 3, from 9 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Shoppers can browse a wide selection of clothing, household items, and linens, all available by donation.
At 11 a.m., a special “Fill a Bag for $1” deal will begin, giving bargain hunters a chance to stock up on great finds at an unbeatable price. Community members are invited to attend and shop while supporting a good cause. Proceeds from the sale will support the church’s free Thanksgiving Dinner, open to everyone in the community.
