AUBURN — Police arrested two men and a woman Thursday at a home on Country Club Drive after discovering quantities of methamphetamine, cocaine, fentanyl and heroin, according to an Auburn Police Department Facebook post.

Officers searched the home occupied by Luke Merriam, 41, of Auburn and charged him with five counts of aggravated trafficking in schedule drugs, three counts of unlawful possession of schedule W drugs, two counts of unlawful possession of schedule W drugs and violating conditions of release.

Nathan Taylor, 46, of Augusta was charged with five counts of aggravated trafficking of schedule drugs, three counts of unlawful possession of schedule W drugs, two counts of unlawful possession of schedule W drugs, refusing to submit to arrest or detention and violating conditions of release.

Merriam and Taylor were transported to Androscoggin County Jail and held without bail pending appearances before a judge.

Jessica Simmons, 30, of Gardiner was taken into custody on multiple unrelated warrants.

During an investigation into complaints from the community about suspected drug activity at the home, police conducted a bail compliance check on Merriam, according to the release.

While interviewing Merriam, a man with a backpack — later identified as Taylor — was seen running from the back of the house into the woods. Officers gave chase and discovered him behind a storage shed attempting to destroy a large bag of cocaine. Officers also discovered several large packages of illegal drugs, according to the release.

Taylor was additionally charged with assault when he spit in the face of an officer at the jail, the release said.

In their search of the house, officers found 4.2 pounds of crystal methamphetamine, 331 grams of cocaine HCL, or “coke,” 144 grams of fentanyl, 73 grams of heroin and 21 grams of crack cocaine, the release said. Also discovered were digital scales and evidence of drug manufacturing and trafficking.

The drugs have an estimated street value of about $90,000, according to the release.
