SABATTUS — A Westbrook woman remained in critical condition Monday, three days after her vehicle was struck head-on on Route 132 in Sabattus, Androscoggin County Sheriff’s Office Chief Deputy William Gagne said.

Kylie Langella, 25, was driving northbound just after 7 p.m. Friday when a GMC Acadia driven by 23-year-old Cole Whitten of Sabattus crossed the centerline and collided with Langella’s Chevrolet Trax, Gagne said.

Gagne said Monday that Langella was moved from Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston to Maine Medical Center in Portland.

According to a GoFundMe created for Langella, she suffered two collapsed lungs, two broken legs, a lacerated liver and had her spleen removed.

Whitten and his passenger were transported to CMMC, but their injuries were not released.

According to the Sheriff’s Office, driver distraction is being considered as a contributing factor, but speed and alcohol don’t appear to be involved.

The accident remains under investigation, Gagne said Monday.

Lewiston Police Department’s reconstruction team, Sabattus Fire and Rescue, Lisbon Rescue and United Ambulance also responded to the crash.
