
LEWISTON — Police arrested a male teenager Thursday in a shooting Tuesday on Bartlett Street, according to a Lewiston Police Department Facebook post.
The 15-year-old juvenile was transported to Long Creek Youth Development Center in South Portland and remains there.
The case remains active and more arrests are expected, the post said.
Police responded to the area of 79 Birch St. around 4:30 a.m. Tuesday for a report of gunshots. While no suspects or evidence of a shooting were found, a call later from the area of 184 Bartlett St. reporting a broken window prompted police to reinvestigate. Officers found evidence that the broken window was caused by a bullet.
Bartlett Street residents reported a separate incident around 10 p.m. near 188 Bartlett St. that same day, police said. The report indicated several gunshots were heard.
Responding officers found evidence that an apartment at 176 Bartlett St. was struck by a bullet.
Police did not say if there were any suspects for the Tuesday evening shooting.
Neither incident resulted in reported injuries, the post said.
