Gray-New Gloucester ended a scoreless stalemate with three runs in the top of the eighth inning to down Telstar 3-0 in a baseball contest Tuesday in Bethel.
Isaac Dunn drove in two of Gray-NG’s runs and then scored the third. Kobi Conant, Kaiden Chase, Liam Joyce and Jason Nevells had a hit apiece for the Patriots (6-3).
Chase pitched the first six innings for Gray-New Gloucester, striking out four. Landon Wilson fanned two in an inning of relief, and Seth Espling pitched a scoreless bottom of eighth, striking out two, to earn the win.
Connor Deprey and Ai Ballou each had two hits for the Rebels (5-4). Brennan Walker had five strikeouts in seven innings.
GIRLS LACROSSE
MARANACOOK/WINTHROP 9, CONY 8: Stella Stewart capped off a four-goal day with the game-winner in overtime as the Black Bears topped the Rams in Augusta.
Alice Ferran and Mya St. Pierre had two goals each for Maranacook/Winthrop (5-1). The Black Bears got eight saves from Devyn Eliasen and four from Willow Woodford.
Abby Morrill scored five goals for Cony (5-2). Avery Maxim had 12 saves for the Rams.
MT. BLUE 19, EDWARD LITTLE 11: The Cougars (3-3) exploded for nine goals in the first period to take down the Red Eddies (1-6) in Auburn.
Lily Huntley paced Mt. Blue’s offense with five goals and an assist. Maya Kellett added three goals, while Alaya Smith scored twice and had two assists, and Addison Decker had two goals and an assist.
Izzy Hayes led Edward Little with five goals, and Marina Morgan scored four.
BOYS LACROSSE
LEWISTON 5, EDWARD LITTLE 4: Collin Michaud’s three goals paced the Blue Devils (4-3) to a win over the rival Red Eddies (5-2) in Auburn.
Lewiston scored four of its goals in the first half and led 4-1 and the intermission. Ben Gradwell and Camden Plourde also scored for the Blue Devils.
Caiden Strout, Landon Nagy, Ryan Maleikis and Haydon Emery scored for Edward Little.
