DEAR SUN SPOTS: I sent a letter to you but I haven’t seen it in the column yet. Why? — No name, no town

ANSWER: I’m not sure which letter you’re referring to, but I’ve noticed lately that a few letters have been sent that need to be retyped or reformatted so that may be holding things up. If a letter isn’t appropriate for Sun Spots, I let you know.

Sending jpg or PDF files takes extra time as they can’t copied, pasted and edited, nor can a copy of a poster. What works best is a simple email, with a WORD or Google document attached if needed.

The simpler the font and format the better. Please use sentence case capitalization and punctuation as this saves Ms. Sun Spots and the copy editors time. There isn’t space for photos. For handwritten letters, use the P.O. address shown below.

As a reminder, Sun Spots is not the place to send an opinion, a rant or complaint about a business, or anything political. I do my best to respond to your questions and concerns, and to share any items that help an area nonprofit with publicity for their fundraising events and other needs.
