The Rangeley Baptist Church, 3 Church Street, will be holding a public dinner 5—7 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 20. The main course will feature large enchiladas and rice with churros and other delicious desserts. Tickets are $20 for adults and $5 for children under 12. To-go boxes will be available and may be ordered at the dinner or in advance by calling MaryAnne Goodwin at (207)491-0824 or Janet Wilson at (207)864-2636.
The dinner will help to raise support for a team of people from Rangeley Baptist Church who are going on a mission trip to Honduras in January. On the trip we will be assisting Paul & Tania Steer, native Hondurans who minister in the city of Comayagua with Missions Door. (missionsdoor.org). We will be assisting with a construction project, vacation Bible School, and whatever other projects the Steers ask for help with. If you are unable to attend the dinner but would still like to support the mission, donations may be sent to Rangeley Baptist Church PO Box 197 Rangeley, ME 04970. We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
