On Sunday, Oct. 5 at 2 p.m., Wilhelm Reich Museum board president Renata Reich Moise and executive director David Silver will lead an easy to moderate 2-mile walk on a loop of the red and green trails of the Orgonon Trail system, starting from the new Dodge Pond Road trailhead.
This event celebrates the creation of a new parking area and kiosk, the replacement of rotted bog bridging, and other significant trail upgrades. The project was largely funded by a generous grant from the Maine Recreational Trail Program, with additional support from an AARP Community Challenge grant. The trail upgrades were completed this summer by a crew from the Appalachian Mountain Club of New Hampshire, and the new trailhead was built by M&H Logging of Rangeley.
The beautifully rehabilitated trails are open to the public year-round. New maps and signage are coming soon!
Snacks and water will be provided. All are welcome!

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
