Payton Rose’s second-half goal lifted Poland girls soccer to its first win in 13 years over rival Gray-New Gloucester, a 2-1 victory Tuesday in Poland.
Ella Kenney gave the Patriots (1-5-1) an early lead in the first half before Poland’s Leksi Langevin tied it up before halftime.
Rose’s game winner came on a scramble in front of the goal with 10 minutes remaining in the game.
Alivia Lemieux had an assist for the Knights, who improve to 7-1.
BOYS SOCCER
LEAVITT 2, SPRUCE MOUNTAIN 1: Tyler Mates and Bradley Dupile scored in the Hornets’ (5-2) victory over the Phoenix (1-5-1) in Jay.
Max Turner netted Spruce Mountain’s goal off an assist by Johnny Hines.
Leavitt goalie Serhii Bezhenar stopped two shots, and Spruce’s Blake Gemelli made 18 saves.
FIELD HOCKEY
BOOTHBAY 2, OAK HILL 1: Bea Wormwood and Moriah Smith scored in the first half, and the Seahawks (6-1-1) held off the Raiders (1-8) in Wales.
Boothbay goalie Sophia White stopped five shots.
Izzy Whitaker recorded Oak Hill’s goal in the third quarter, with Madalyn Sikora picking up an assist.
Ella Martin made six saves for the Raiders.
FALMOUTH 5, POLAND 0: Liza Flower scored four goals to lift the Falcons (7-0) past the Knights (1-5) in Poland.
Lizalyn Boudreau was the other goal scorer.
Isabella Billings made 10 saves for Poland.
