Mitch Deelstra and Xander Lamppa scored less than two minutes apart in the second period and Luke Cavallin made 20 saves, leading the Maine Mariners to a 3-1 win over the Trois-Rivières Lions in an ECHL game Friday night at Cross Insurance Arena.
Deelstra, a recent addition to Maine’s roster, tied the game with his first goal of the season at 5:54 of the second period. Just 1:40 later, Lamppa put the Mariners in front with his fifth goal.
Jacob Hudson clinched the victory with an empty-net goal.
Maine has earned at least a point in eight straight home games, with a record of 5-0-2-1.
Cavallin yielded only a power-play goal by Joel Teasdale in the first period.
