As someone who’s spent decades fighting for working families and women’s rights in Maine, I know what real advocacy looks like. Matt Dunlap has it. That’s why I’m proud to co-chair, along with state Rep. Laura Supica, Women for Dunlap.

Matt’s platform addresses the urgent challenges facing Maine women and working families. He understands that when clinics like Maine Family Planning are forced to close primary care practices, due to Washington’s policy changes, rural women lose access to essential healthcare: cancer screenings, contraception and basic care they depend on.

When it comes to reproductive freedom, Matt trusts women to make their own choices about their bodies. Period. No exceptions, no hedging. That kind of clarity matters.

He’s also fighting for practical solutions that strengthen families: restoring the expanded Child Tax Credit that lifted 40% of Maine children out of poverty; making childcare affordable when it now costs more than college tuition; and enforcing equal pay laws so Maine women finally earn what they deserve. What sets Matt apart is how he’ll pay for these investments—by closing tax loopholes that let wealthy individuals and corporations avoid paying their fair share, not by burdening working families.

Throughout my work with the Maine Women’s Lobby, Planned Parenthood of Maine Action Fund, the Maine Choice Coalition and other groups, I’ve learned to recognize authentic commitment – Matt has it, and he always has. Maine’s working families need a champion in Congress. Matt Dunlap is that champion.
