Leksi Langevin scored twice and set up a goal as Edward Little/Leavitt/Poland/Oxford Hills earned a 4-2 win over Biddeford/Thornton Academy/Kennebunk/Wells in a girls hockey game Wednesday at Auburn’s Norway Savings Bank Arena.
The Edward Little co-op (6-1), ranked No. 2 in the Varsity Maine poll, avenged its only loss so far this season. The Red Hornets took a 1-0 lead in the first period on a goal by Kylie Dubuc. Langevin struck twice in the second period, and Avianna D’Auteuil scored the final goal in the third.
Sophia Auger and Corinne Ramunno scored for the Biddeford co-op (5-3), ranked No. 3 in the Varsity Maine poll.
Red Hornets goalie Paige Fecteau made 17 saves, while Mariah Villandry stopped 21 shots for the Tigers.
GIRLS BASKETBALL
SPRUCE MOUNTAIN 84, BOOTHBAY 14: Natasha McDonald paced the Phoenix (5-0) with 25 points as Spruce Mountain won a clash of unbeaten Mountain Valley Conference teams, in Jay.
Lily Bellerose added 19 points and Alaina Kacknovich scored 10. Every player who dressed for the Phoenix scored.
Tatum French led Boothbay (4-1) with five points.
MARANACOOK 50, OAK HILL 37: Celia Bergdahl poured in 15 points to lead the unbeaten Black Bears (5-0) past the Raiders (2-1) in a Class C South matchup in Wales.
Hadley Farwell added 10 points for Maranacook, which also got eight points from Gracie Farrell, seven from Jackie Clarke and six from Alice Ferran.
Grace Lough led Oak Hill with 12 points, and Brennah McElhaney finished with eight.
