Brannon McManus scored 2:25 into overtime to give the Adirondack Thunder a 3-2 win over the Maine Mariners in an ECHL game Wednesday afternoon in Glens Falls, New York.
The Mainers forced overtime when Jacob Perreault tied the game with 14 seconds left in regulation, but Maine dropped to 1-5 this season in overtime games. Four out of five games against Adirondack have gone to overtime.
The Mariners took a 1-0 lead early in the second period on a power-play goal by Andrew Nielsen. Adirondack’s Patrick Grasso tied it less than four minutes later, and Brian Carrabes put the Thunder ahead earlier in the third period.
Adirondack goalie Jeremy Brodeur made 35 saves, while Maine’s Luke Cavallin stopped 27 shots.
