Connor Deprey scored 11 points in the first quarter, including three 3-pointers, and Telstar jumped out to a 13-point lead on its way to a 70-59 win over Wiscasset in a boys basketball game Thursday in Bethel.
Deprey finished with 17 points. Cooper Morgan led the Rebels (6-9) with 20 points, Alex Dougherty added 15, and Jonathan Marshall had 11 points, 14 rebounds and six blocks.
Julien King and Spencer Pinkham both scored 13 points and Tyler Mank added 10 for Wiscasset (8-5).
GRAY-NEW GLOUCESTER 65, FRYEBURG ACADEMY 43: The Patriots (5-10) outscored the Raiders (0-13) by a 20-8 margin in the fourth quarter to pull away for a win in Gray.
Carter Corson led Gray-New Gloucester with 20 points. Quentin Warrick added 15 and Kaleb D’Andrea had 12.
Gian Uribe scored 17 points and Robbie Hazlewood chipped in 13 for Fryeburg.
GIRLS BASKETBALL
GRAY-NEW GLOUCESTER 73, FRYEBURG ACADEMY 26: Abbey Steele made four 3-pointers and scored 19 points to lift the Patriots (14-1) past the Raiders (0-13) in Gray.
Bryn Gilmore and Ella Kenney each added 17 points.
Presli Knapp scored 14 points for Fryeburg.
BOYS HOCKEY
EDWARD LITTLE 10, PORTLAND CO-OP 1: Nolan Heath, Leighton Clark and Ben Poulin each scored twice for the Red Eddies (8-3) in a win over Portland/Deering/South Portland/Waynflete at Troubh Ice Arena in Portland.
Braydin Gatto chipped in with a goal and two assists. Jack Caron notched a goal and an assist and Romeo St. Pierre and Brodyn Rodrigue also scored.
Jack O’Connell scored for the Beacons.
GIRLS HOCKEY
BRUNSWICK 3, GREELY/GRAY-NEW GLOUCESTER 1: Solveig Ledwick scored two first-period goals and assisted on Natalie Perham’s third-period tally as the Dragons (9-7) beat the Rangers at Family Ice Center in Falmouth.
Perham also had an assist. Brunswick goalie Hensleigh LaBonte made seven saves.
Kaia Perkins scored in the third period for Greely/Gray-New Gloucester. Charley Louis stopped 44 shots.
