Kessler Edwards scored the winning basket in overtime as the Grand Rapids Gold completed a comeback from a 22-point deficit Thursday night against the Maine Celtics, rallying for a 122-119 win in an NBA G League game at the Portland Expo.
Dane Goodwin and Javante McCoy both scored 25 points for Grand Rapids. Goodwin forced overtime by sinking a 3-pointer from the right corner with 3.6 seconds remaining, then opened the extra session with back-to-back 3-pointers that made it 120-114.
Maine answered with five straight points and had a chance to reach the target score of 121, but Jalen Bridges missed a 3-pointer.
Ron Harper Jr. paced the Celtics with 37 points. Bridges and Aaron Scott both scored 16 points, Kendall Brown had 15 points and six steals, and Max Shulga finished with 14 points and eight assists.
