Four Dirigo wrestlers won individual titles Saturday to lead the Cougars to the Class B South championship in Waldoboro.

The Cougars, who claimed the duals state championship last week, finished with 198.5 points. Mountain Valley was second with 139 points, followed by Winslow (138.5), Medomak Valley (137) and Wells (115).

Individual champions for Dirigo were Caiden Skidgell, who earned a technical fall over Jesse Knowlton of Oceanside in the 144-pound final; Kolton Bradeen, who pinned Evan Delaware of Waterville in the 150 final; Leighton Waite, who pinned Logan Dawes of Madison/Carrabec at 165; and Tanner Bradeen, who earned a major decision over Jakobi Hagar of Lincoln Academy at 175.

Nine Dirigo wrestlers qualified for the state meet next Saturday at Mattanawcook Academy by placing in the top four.

Chance Watson was an individual champion for Mountain Valley, pinning Dominic Keyser of Winslow in the 138 final. Christian Fleming (113), Keygan Boucher (132) and Welsey Baltrus (285) all placed second for the Falcons.

Other invidual champions were Liam McKenney (106) and Owen Vigue (120) of Winslow, Bruce Grosjean (113) of Erskine Academy, Julien Menendez (126) of York, Cohen Swoveland (132) of Waterville, Noah Schultz (157) of Monmouth/Richmond/Winthrop, Grady Pease (190) and Shamus Pease (215) of Medomak Valley, and William Martinez (285) of Wells.
