The March 28 “No Kings” protest on Bethel Common is one of over a thousand planned nationwide.

A “No Kings” march will be held on March 28 at 2 p.m. at Bethel Common, organizers have announced.

The Bethel protest is one of over one thousand “No Kings” protests planned in the United States for March 28.

“No Kings” is a nationwide series of protests that have been held against the policies of the U.S. federal government and the administration of President Donald Trump. They have been organized as part of broader protest movements such as the 50501 movement and the Indivisible movement, which coordinate community-level events across many states.

Organizers say the groups promote peaceful, nonviolent demonstrations to express opposition to what they describe as authoritarian overreach.

In 2025, a June 14 protest in Bethel organized by Lee Hughes and Cathy Allen brought out area residents, also part of a broader “No Kings” effort across the United States. This protest is being organized by Zach Bell.

“We’ll start with a rally-style gathering and then proceed with a march down Main Street,” Bell said. “The group organizing the national day of protest is Indivisible (indivisible.org), which is part of the national No Kings Coalition (nokings.org). The purpose of this peaceful gathering is to protest tyranny and build community.”
