The Portland Hearts of Pine, just four days shy of their 2026 season opener, announced the signing of rookie forward Aboubacar Camara a former Division I player at Louisville, Kentucky, and Penn State.

Camara, 5-foot-10, scored five goals in 11 games (all starts) for Penn State as a graduate student in 2024. From West Guinea, Africa, Camara played for the Philadelphia Union Academy. He played his first three college seasons at the University of Louisville (2020-22) appearing in 46 matches with 43 starts and led the team in scoring each season with a career total of 25 goals. He played his senior season at Kentucky, with three goals and two assists.

Portland starts its USL League One season on Saturday against the New York Cosmos in Paterson, New Jersey.
