At Hebron’s annual town meeting Saturday, March 14, voters approved an annual budget of $1.2 million.

Municipal spending in the new fiscal year projects to be about 3% less than the 2025 budget.

Roads maintenance and paving projects saw an overall 6% increase over last year. This year, $90,000 of the paving budget is to be raised from tax revenues and $100,000 will be appropriated from the town’s undesignated fund balance.

With Hebron entering its second year of a 32-hour/week for the town administrator overseeing daily operations and supervising staff, the Board of Selectmen is scaling back the stipends paid to its three-person board. The chairman’s compensation was reduced from $15,000 to $5,000, while the other two will go from $7,500 each last year to $5,000, a 42% decrease.

General government spending is budgeted at $360,940 for 2026, a near 6% rise. Town Administrator Alicia Bryant said increases are largely due to higher utility, insurance and contracted services, such as financial audits.

Voters approved a total of $30,000 be appropriated from the undesignated fund balance for future purchases of a plow truck, fire truck and commercial mowing equipment.
