Sebastian Vidmar scored twice and the Maine Mariners rolled to a 6-3 win over the Norfolk Admirals on Friday night at Cross Insurance Arena in Portland.
Maine set a franchise record for points in a season with 89 and can clinch home-ice advantage in the first round of the playoffs with a win on Saturday.
Robert Cronin and Vidmar scored in the first period to give Maine a 2-0 lead. Jack O’Leary scored early in the second for the Admirals, but Mitch Deelstra scored later in the second, then Zach Jordan and Vidmar scored in the third to make it 5-1.
Marko Reifendberger and Jaydon Dureau scored later in the third to pull Norfolk within two, before Brooklyn Kalmikov capped the scoring for Maine.
Luke Cavallin stopped 23 shots for the Mariners, while Isaac Polter (32 saves) and Alex Worthington (7) both saw time in net for Norfolk.
