William K. Brock
AUBURN – William K. Brock, 74. of Auburn died peacefully on March 27, 2026. Bill was born in Lewiston, Maine on July 6, 1951, to Norman K. Brock and Rae Parady Brock.
He was an honor student at Edward Little High School, graduating in 1969, and attended the University of Maine in Orono prior to enlisting in the Navy. As a Navy recruit he studied electronics and was assigned to duties in Iceland monitoring Soviet submarine activity during the Cold War. After his discharge from the Navy he served as a postal employee in Portland, Maine for many years before retiring.
Bill loved playing golf and was ELHS team captain and Golfer of the Year in 1969. He caddied at Martindale Golf Club where he was able to polish his game and play the sport that he loved. He was an excellent bridge player and enjoyed three-generation bridge games with his family and summer outings with his many cousins. He was a fierce Scrabble player with a thorough command of the Scrabble dictionary.
He was predeceased by his parents and his sister Sally Fawcett. He is survived by his sister Susan Gordon (Kenneth), brother-in-law Reg Fawcett; nephew Ted Fawcett (Elaine), nieces Rhea Wilda (Tom), Heidi Schwartz (Eric), Julie Packard and Vanessa Gordon; great-nephew and William and Sarah Packard; Noah, Rebecca and Eli Schwartz; and Scarlet, Madeline and Stella Fawcett
A summer memorial event will be planned at a later date
