Judith Ann Waite
CARIBOU – Judith Ann Waite (Barlow) of Caribou, Maine passed away peacefully on Dec. 9, 2025, at the home of her daughter, Cindy Merrill. She was born on Nov. 29, 1944, in Waterville to Stanley and Norma MacLeod.
Judy lived in Boston, Mass. as a young child before moving to Portland. She attended area schools in Portland where she achieved her GED, and in adulthood, attended USM. Judy worked as a bookkeeper for various companies in the Saco/Biddeford area, retiring in 2005. Judy loved animals, especially horses, she also enjoyed cooking, watching TV and traveling after she retired.
Judy married Joseph Rodney, Sr. in 1960 and later divorced in 1963. In 1964 she met Frank Barlow and they were married on Sept. 12, 1965, until his passing on July 30, 2006. Judy and Frank made their home in Portland before moving to Old Orchard Beach in 1971 where they raised their four children.
Judy was a recovering alcoholic, sober for 27 years and was active in AA as a sponsor and secretary for numerous sober houses.
Judy moved to Allenstown, N.H. in 2007 where she met Walter Waite. Judy and Walter were married in 2014 until his passing in February 2024. In May of 2024 she moved to Caribou to be closer to her daughter, Cindy. While living with Cindy she developed a special relationship with her great-grandchildren who affectionately called her “GiGi”.
Judy is survived by her daughters, Cindy (Randy) Merrill of Caribou and Lisa (David) Senecal of Kennebunk, her son, Michael (Melinda) Barlow of Norway; nine grandchildren, Erica Frost, Megan (Richard) Poitras, Stephanie Leighton, Ashley (David) Wurm, Haley Senecal, Jesse (Emily) Barlow, Brianna (Eric) Perron, Ryan Beals (Brit Cormier) and Brandon (Sara) Beals; nine great-grandchildren, Riley, Reese, Peyton, Bentley, Raelyn, Camden, Rogan, Harper, Ella and Jacqueline, due in August 2026.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Frank, in 2006 and her husband, Walter, in 2024; her children Joseph Rodney Jr. and Kathleen Beals in 2006.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date this summer.
