Bertha Mary Arsenault
PERU – Bertha M. Arsenault, 93, of Ridge Road, Peru, died peacefully Tuesday July 27, 2021 at her home surrounded by her loving family.
She was born in Rumford Jan. 28, 1928 a daughter of the late Samuel and Alice (LeBlanc) Martin. She was educated in local schools. Bertha married her love, Alfred Arsenault Oct. 22, 1949. Together they spent many years together until he passed in 1997.
Bertha was a humble woman and enjoyed the simple things in life. She was a stay-at-home mom and enjoyed that part of her life. Her greatest joy was her family and especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her face would light up when she would see her grandchildren walk in the door; they were the joy of her life. She loved when family would visit.
She also enjoyed jigsaw puzzles and dancing in her younger years. She was a member of The Parish of the Holy Savior. Her faith was very important to her; she prayed often, and you could always catch her praying the rosary and watching mass every day.
She is survived by her two sons, Larry Arsenault and his wife Nancy of Litchfield Park, Ariz., and Ronald Arsenault of Albany, Ore., her four daughters, Catherine Powers and her husband James of Chillicothe, Ohio, Yvonne Drouin and her husband Arthur of Mexico, Priscilla Bickford and her husband Paul of Rumford and Annette St. Pierre and her husband Andy of Peru; two brothers, Raymond Martin of Bowdoinham and Aimee Martin of Benton, a sister, Cecile Laflamme and her husband Paul of Florida; 14 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren, with two more on the way; and many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by a son, Davy; a sister, Anita Theriault and three brothers, Gerard, Leo, and Camille Martin.
