TURNER — A local man was arrested Thursday in connection with a robbery at Schrep’s Corner Store two days before.
Police said Justin Donaldson, 33, of Turner, was free on bail from an earlier robbery when he committed the stickup at Schrep’s on Tuesday night.
At about 9 p.m. Tuesday, a lone suspect walked into Schrep’s at Route 117 and Center Bridge Road, demanded money and fled in a car.
Police did not say how much money was handed over in the robbery. Investigators from the Androscoggin County Sheriff’s Department spent Tuesday night and all of Wednesday searching for a suspect and developing leads.
On Wednesday, detectives and deputies found and arrested Donaldson, who was taken into custody without incident. He was charged with robbery and violating conditions of release.
Donaldson had been free on bail, arrested in the Sept. 18 holdup at Cumberland Farms on Main Street in Lewiston.
In that heist, police said Donaldson threatened a store clerk with what later proved to be a BB gun. In the Turner robbery, no weapon was displayed, police said.
On Thursday, Donaldson was being held at the Androscoggin County Jail in Auburn. Bail was set at $5,000 on the robbery charge, but he was ordered held without bail on the charge of violating conditions.
