AUBURN — The Auburn Parks and Recreation Department is taking registrations for the programs listed below.
Tai-Chi-Chuan: De-stress and refresh personal energy. Master Martial Artist John Jenkins will conduct four classes from 5 to 6 p.m. Tuesdays, April 5 to 26, at the Hasty Community Center, Pettengill Park. The fee is $40 a person or $50 if registered for tai chi and self-defense.
Self-Defense: Participants will learn simple, practical techniques to avoid, de-escalate and escape “at risk” situations. Jenkins will conduct classes from 5 to 6 p.m. Thursdays, April 7 to 28, at the Hasty Community Center. The fee is $40 a person or $50 if registered for tai chi and self-defense.
Line Dancing: Lessons will be held from 5 to 6 p.m. Fridays, April 1 and 15, at the Hasty Community Center. Classes will be conducted by Maria Pete, prevention and wellness coordinator at St. Mary’s Hospital. The fee is $15 a person.
