LEWISTON — Upsets ruled the day in the semifinal round of the Lewiston Rec women’s volleyball tournament.

No. 3 Farmington and No. 4 Some Spike It Hot advanced to next week’s best-of-five finals, each advancing through two rounds of best-of-three competition.

In the quarterfinals, Some Spike it Hot defeated Longchamps 2-0 (25-23, 25-8), and Farmington disposed of DLH 2-0 (25-10, 25-8).

Spike swept the semifinals, as well, knocking out No. 1 Capsawn Designs by scores of 25-18 and 25-20. Farmington dropped the opening game to No. 2 Right Stuff, 25-27, before rallying to wins of 25-15 and 25-14.
